Komorebi Mixer
Make your own komorebi, the dappled light that falls through leaves, generated live in the browser and exported as a still or a loop.
Komorebi is the Japanese word for sunlight filtering through trees. This is a small instrument for making your own. A canvas renders shifting light and the shadows it casts through leaves, branches, flowers, tall grass, or a window, all grown procedurally from noise rather than assembled from images. Sliders control color, softness, density, wind, and film grain, and the painting responds as you move them. When you like what you see, save it as a PNG, an animated GIF, or a video loop for a wallpaper, header, or screensaver.
Used Figma and Claude Code to build it. Inspired by images and paintings of these moments, and by wanting to capture the movement behind them.
Every element is generated from scratch each time, so no two compositions repeat. Abstraction bends the same shapes smoothly from recognizable leaves to loose organic blobs, and wind can sit still, drift, or gust. It runs entirely in the browser: no accounts, no backend, no build step, and no third-party requests of any kind.
